This week we summited with a preview sampling of Chassagne-Montrachets from Guy Amiot. Since 1920, the Amiot family has produced "pure" wines that express the true terroir of the hallowed vineyards around their home village. Planted mostly in the '20's, the vines provide naturally lower yields which allow expertly delineated expression. Because one family has lovingly tended these vines from pruning in the spring through the autumn harvest - each plot's "identity" is captured and put on full display.

Vintage 2014 is an exceptional one for white Burgundy. Here's a profound interplayof freshness and ripeness.  These wines are exquisite across the board; thrillingly fine, nuanced gems that will supply incredible enjoyment over the next 5-10 years.
